We had our wedding at Gordon Lodge earlier this month. We could not have had a better experience! Our suite, the grounds, the food, the STAFF!!! Oh my goodness, the Staff at the Lodge is second to none! Barb at the front desk is just wonderful and unbelievably helpful. Sandy was our main bartender for 3 of our events and she could not be more helpful, sweet and professional. Finally, last but not least, AMY GORHAM - she is the BEST event manager and made our wedding planning a fun process. She took care of so many details that I wouldn't have thought of. Our guests continued to comment on the beauty of the venue, the friendliness and efficiency of the staff and the amazing food!!!

Pretty wooded area along the north bay and lake. Several shorter private trails under a mile each, about 4-5 miles total if you go around the whole property. Single and tandem kayaks to use in the surrounding waters, bikes available to use on the trails or to get to/from the larger buildings and cottages. I stayed in the Stonecrop cottage. It was roomy and had great views and though on the older side, it was well kept. The woman at the front desk was incredibly nice and helpful! Only downside would be the standard prices, which are on the higher end. And the coffee is not up to my particular standard, but that may just be me.

Went to the Lodge this weekend for a wedding, and the views couldn't be beat. While of course I couldn't comment on the swimming situation (50ish degrees out and the pool was drained for the season) , there was a nice little beach and a lot of lovely views out over the bay-- really stunning. At night it's so nice and dark that you can actually see the Milky Way! The rooms are comfortable, and there are also lots of cabins. About four miles of trails to walk or run, and excellent breakfasts in the morning. Hope to go back someday!

We photographed a wedding at Gordon Lodge this past weekend and stayed at the lodge in a suite. Not only was the lodge extremely helpful and accommodating with all our needs for the wedding but Amy the coordinator was fabulous. Our room was cozy, quiet and very clean. The food for the wedding was delicious as well as our complimentary breakfast the next morning. The property is beautiful and there is so much to do on the property and surrounding it. Though we didn't get to go swimming or use to kayaks they had plenty to use. I absolutely recommend Gordon Lodge for your vacation or wedding. We hope to come back there and photograph another wedding there someday in the future or take a vacation there. We cannot wait to share the images we captured of Angelina and AJ's wedding.

Fantastic place. Extremely well kept. Very clean!!! Fantastic amenities!!! So much to do. Landscaping was just beautiful. Loved the décor! Top Deck Restaurant was wonderful. Pizzas were ordered several times. Breakfast was well done. Loved the tennis courts, basketball, bikes, paddleboards, kayaks, hiking trails, etc. So much to do. Staff was very attentive. Only suggestions I have would be to resurface the pool soon and to have better bike maintenance. Also, someone was renting the 5BD house while we were there and they confiscated most of the bikes and kept them there overnight (saw them when walking the trails each day). I got the feeling they were the owners or friends of which probably means they can confiscate the bikes. Maybe the 5BD house should come with it's own set of bikes since it's further away from all the amenities. Overall fantastic. Highly recommend.

I give the ambiance and views of Gordon Lodge and Top Deck 5 Stars. However, the Top Deck restaurant has been disappointing. We dined at Top Deck three years ago and truly enjoyed our meals and service. We decided to go back this year, and we brought several guests with us. Unfortunately, we all did not enjoy our meals (and we're not overly picky). Majority ruled that there was a lack of seasoning. Portions are small and some of the flavors of the dishes were plain odd to combine. Our server was incredibly slow ... it took me 20 minutes before my drink arrived. Besides the nice view and atmosphere, we did enjoy our appetizer of puff pastry stuffed with prosciutto, asparagus, and fontina. That went quickly. Too bad we all left that evening unfulfilled and disappointed. I would go back just for drinks and perhaps appetizers, but I'd spend my money on dinner elsewhere (like Wickman House).

Went to Top Deck for dinner last night. Had corner table. The four of us all thought the dinner we each had was the best and reasonable! I had the pasta with sausage - forgot name- but one of their everyday items. It was perfect. Prices were reasonable. Will definitely go again. Service was also super (young guy Sean did a nice job)

We just had an awesome family reunion at Gordon's for 86 of us. The entire staff was attentive and polite. They helped out with lots of last minute plans and really made this a special week for all. The rooms and cottages are beautiful and comfortable, and the included breakfast buffet is excellent. Several of us ate at Top Deck a couple of nights. The food was very good and service was spot on. Friendly wait staff and no delays in service. This is a wonderful resort to host a large gathering, there is so much to do, or not if you choose. You can't beat the water views and the sunsets. We will be back, again and again!

We just returned from our whirl-wind wedding weekend at the Gordon Lodge. We had big plans for a gorgeous ceremony on site and fantastic reception there as well. They surpassed our expectations! There was a freak storm on Thursday that knocked the power out to most of Door County. Our wedding was Saturday! The staff, especially Rory and Joe, worked their magic to make sure our wedding went off without a hitch. Somehow, we had power to the rooms and the event center. They were fantastic to our guests, making sure that everyone was taken care of despite this crazy storm. The ceremony could not have been more beautiful and the reception rocked. We can't wait to book our anniversary trip, year after year!

BEST DAY OF MY LIFE! MANY THANKS TO GORDON LODGE! My partner and I had our commitment ceremony at Gordon Lodge in August 2011. We had started planning our event prior to Illinois' civil union movement starting in June 2011. Still, we couldn't have pictured a more perfect setting to exchange our vows while celebrating with our family and friends (we filled out paperwork in Chicago when we got home.) GORDON LODGE WAS EXTREMELY SUPPORTIVE of hosting a same sex wedding in their facilities. My partner and I felt blessed to have come across such wonderful people who made our planning process effortless and fun! Many of our guests dubbed it the "best wedding ever" and I couldn't agree more. I truly believe this is due to the experienced and competent employees of this establishment. Joe Schlegel, the Director of Events of Food and Beverages, was knowledgable and goes above and beyond to make sure things get done and go smoothly. He is a very nice man and was a pleasure to work with. I can go on and on about everyone...Rory, Patti, the chef, the owner....all extended their warm wishes and congratulations and did everything they could to cater to us and our special event. Now about Gordon Lodge.....it is absolutely breathtakingly beautiful. We had a picturesque outside ceremony and an inside reception. The food was so good (once again...declared the best wedding food ever) And the lodging and facilities offered made everyone who stayed there wanting to come back. I can't say enough good things about our experience with Gordon Lodge!!! All I know is that it wouldn't have been how it was if we had it elsewhere. We had discussed the negative review from Laura A. with Gordon Lodge and needless to say we did not let it influence our decision. It is such a wonderful venue for a commitment ceremony/ wedding and we plan on spending our anniversary there for vacation!
